We are excited for Qijia Yu to join us in the lab as the newest post-doctoral fellow! Qi just completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge in the lab of Dr. Nicholas Ktistakis at the Babraham Institute. Qi was awarded a prestigious Cambridge International Scholarship from University of Cambridge in order to complete his doctoral work there. As a graduate student, Qi worked on identifying novel regulators of autophagosome formation via genome-wide siRNA screens followed by validation using a combination of genome editing and live cell imaging techniques. Qi will be working on projects related to NCOA4 and cellular iron homeostasis as well as a new project for the lab on the interaction between ionizing radiation and antigen presentation.
