Work from the group of Dr. Jennifer Tseng (then at BIDMC and now the new chief of surgery at Boston Medical Center) shows that stereotactic body radiotherapy could be a promising treatment option for patients with unresected pancreatic cancer. This study was published in the journal Cancer. Dr. Mancias is glad to be part of this work and support further research into new therapies for pancreatic cancer as part of the Pancreas and Biliary Tumor Center at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center. To the left: survival curve of various treatment options for patients with unresected pancreatic cancer. Below: example stereotactic body radiation therapy treatment plan.
